Watering is a favorite gardening activity for Little Sprouts

A mild winter and promise of a gentle spring means Little Sprouts can get an early start on their 2010 gardening. Join Melanthia and her 2-year-old son Max during the upcoming Little Sprouts sessions as they explore the early spring garden and all its creatures.

Each week, children will have an opportunity to plan, plant and tend their own garden plot. We’ll also enjoy songs, stories and art projects to help expose your little ones to a backyard garden and all that is offered in its urban habitat.

Summer has flown by and now we’re heading into fall. I’m happy to say that Little Sprouts Gardening is catching on and that our fall sessions began Sept. 20.

In the coming weeks, we’ll explore how the garden changes and its creatures prepare for fall and winter. Little ones still have time for a bit more planting and there’s always a gardening project to be done.

There’s still space for a few more “Little Sprouts,” so contact me if you’re interested in a full session or even a one-time class.

“Little Sprouts has been such a fun and engaging class for my son Sam and I. Melanthia has a knack for creating a rich and adaptive learning environment that extends beyond the garden. The bird feeder, fairy land and the wiggly worm projects were some personal favorites of Sam’s. “Little Sprouts Gardening is a program where children are introduced to nature through stories, songs, art projects and gardening. Throughout the seasons, little ones and their parents learn about flowers, food, animals and insects as they explore the garden from top to bottom.”

Little Sprouts Gardening

Little Sprouts Gardening classes are where children and parents or caregivers come to explore gardening throughout the seasons. In an intimate, small-group setting, families experience the wonders of a backyard garden and the many birds, butterflies, worms, beetles and other critters to be found in its urban habitat. Little Sprouts and their loved ones grow together through creative activities and art projects, garden exploration and year-round planting.

Little Sprouts Gardening classes this weekend were a hit! Thanks for making them such a huge success.

Don’t hesitate to drop me an email if you were unable to attend and are still interested in checking out the class for free.

The current schedule has classes Tuesdays or Thursdays. However, based on feedback, I’m adding a Saturday class from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Spots are already being reserved for the upcoming session that begins June 20 so be sure to contact me and secure your place in the garden!
